We want to make you aware of 2 new planning consultations for new houses. Both applications are related to previous DevWatch alerts that we have sent.
Planning application 232621 for up to 60 houses on land off Limmer Hill Rd.
This is related to a previous application we advised you of on 6th September 2023, to re-site the entrance to the Leathern Bottel public house and to give access to the equestrian centre where the houses are now being proposed. This application was rejected.
This new application appears to use the current vehicle entrance to the Leathern Bottel.
The application should be rejected
a) It further erodes the gap between Barkham and Wokingham
b) The entrance is unsuitable and on a dangerous bend / brow of hill. It will lead to further traffic on Barkham Rd and the level crossing.
c) It will place further strain on already stretched services such as health facilities and schools
The application can be viewed and comments made at
https://planning.wokingham.gov.uk/FastWebPL/detail.asp?AltRef=232621
Comments should be made by November 23rd.
Planning application 223528 for 56 houses at 33 Barkham Ride
This application was originally submitted a year ago and has been revised. It is adjacent to the application for 26 homes at 31 Barkham Ride, which we advised you of on 16th October 2023.
Again, this application should be rejected for same reasons as the development at number 31 – the increased traffic on Barkham Ride / Street, a narrow and dangerous road.
The application can be viewed and comments made at
https://planning.wokingham.gov.uk/FastWebPL/detail.asp?AltRef=223528
Comments should be made by November 21st.
Our previous DevWatch alerts relevant to these applications can be read on the BVRA website at https://barkham.org.uk/devwatch/archive/listing
We encourage you to make your views known to WBC. Please use your own words in any comments made. Your comments are important in helping us to prevent the over development of Barkham and the surrounding area.
Kind Regards
BVRA
