PUBLIC INQUIRY - 4 August 10am Appeal by: Candice Jules & Dean Jules Site Address: White Heart Grove, The Coombes, Coombes Lane, Barkham, Berkshire, RG41 5SU
Residents will be aware of the long running issue with refused planning applications and WBC enforcement for the Candice and Dean Jules site in the Coombes. There was supposed to be a Public Inquiry held by a Planning Inspector at Shute End but this was postponed due to Covid-19. This has now been rescheduled as a Virtual Public Enquiry. An extract from the notification from the Planning Inspectorate (attached) states:
Proposal: Enforcement Appeal - Without planning permission the unauthorised construction of a timber building and its use as a dwelling.
This is to inform you that an Inspector appointed by the Office of the Secretary of State for the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government will hold a Virtual Public Inquiry into this appeal at 10.00 on 4 August 2020, the appeal is scheduled to run for 1 day, however the duration is not fixed and will depend on how the evidence emerges.
Details of how to take part, either as a (virtual) observer or (virtual) participant are given in the attached document.
Documents relating to the appeal can be viewed on the WBC website via:https://planning.wokingham.gov.uk/FastWebPL/welcome.asp (reference: 190309).
If the appeal is successful it could well set a precedent for the other plot holders in the Coombes so it is to be hoped the Inspector does not go against the wishes of local residents, the parish councils and WBC.
The other long running application and enforcement issue in the Coombes (Dean Thomson) has had the appeal unfortunately put back to October (date to be confirmed). However it is very likely that if this Jules appeal was to be successful it would be used by the applicant to support his subsequent appeal.
Kind Regards BVRA
