Development Watch Alert Update on the High Court injunction regarding The Coombes and a planning application for a car sales yard on Barkham Ride.
We have combined 2 items in this mail to avoid clogging up your mailbox!
Firstly an update on The Coombes. Wokingham Borough Council returned to the High Court on 28 January to seek a continuation of the injunction which we reported previously via these Development Watch alerts. The outcome of this can be viewed on the WBC webpage at http://news.wokingham.gov.uk/news/coombes-woods-update and the injunction notice is attached to this mail.
Also, a direction was made on 23 January that removed permitted development rights on the land The Auctioneers have been advised that these should go in the legal packs for the 3 lots due under the hammer on 4 February. Residents may wish to comment (make representations) supporting this notice and can do so as follows:
From the notice:
A suitable reference for the order would be: "Direction under Article 4 for The Coombes Woodland, Coombes Lane, RG41 5SU"
Secondly, a local resident, back in February 2018 queried with WBC the development of a second hand car sales yard at Model Farm on Barkham Ride, which seemed to them to be inappropriate in the rural surroundings. After rather a long delay, it now seems that WBC have decided that it is a breach of planning control, and the owner or operator of the site has now made a retrospective application for change of use, as Wokingham Car Centre.
