‍In February, we advised you of appeals made by Dean and Candice Jules against an enforcement notice served on them by Wokingham Borough Council to cease using land adjacent to their own in the Coombes for the storage of domestic paraphernalia and building materials: https://www.barkham.org.uk/index.php/devwatch/archive/233-2022-02-07-the-coombes-a-further-appeal-by-candice-and-dean-jules-plus-an-update-on-plot-b?tmpl=rawÂ
The appeals were dismissed by the Planning Inspectorate on 4th July 2022. Mr and Mrs Jules's application for costs against the Council was also dismissed and a counter-application for costs by WBC was granted in full. A press release is at: https://news.wokingham.gov.uk/news/inspector-backs-latest-crackdown-unlawful-woodland-development/Â
This outcome represents a significant victory for the Council in its ongoing work to protect this sensitive woodland environment.
