Development Watch Alert 09-01-2019 Local Plan Update (LPU) Consultation on the Call for Sites - guidance for residents
Hopefully you are all aware of the continuing threat of more and more development in Wokingham Borough and more specifically Barkham. As promised before Christmas, here is an update prepared by Barkham Parish Council and supported by the BVRA, which provides more information and guidance on how to comment to Wokingham Borough Council on the Local Plan Update (LPU). It is very important that as many residents as possible make their views known in order to maintain the momentum generated by the recent petition on Barkham Square (which whilst the largest, is only one of many potential sites). Consultation ends on 22 Feb 2019 but please comment asap - don't wait for the deadline!
1. A 'Dear Resident letter', explaining how to respond to the Consultation in a more simplified manner 2. A pdf Map of Barkham and the Surrounding area, based on the interactive maps provided by WBC.. This identifies all the sites in Barkham and several in the neighbouring parishes. 3. A 2 page summary of (i) those sites within Barkham with some comments by BPC, and (ii) a list of those sites just across the Parish Boundaries.
PS: We note that some residents have still not been formally notified of the LPU Consultation, but we have been assured yesterday by WBC that this will be addressed ASAP.
